Question:
I was involved in a car accident today in which i turned left down a one way street & ended up rear-ending another car which was apparently parallel parking on the left side of the road but did not have brake lights or a signal on. It was also in a blind spot due to the left turn & him parking on the left side two cars down from the corner. I slowed down and then attempted to stop once I realized the car was not moving but was unable to stop in time. There was some damage done to both vehicles and I am fearful that he will try to blame me even though he did not at the scene. We contacted the police and had an officer come and file a police report. The officer did not issue any tickets and said it was a no fault accident. After reading many articles, I've learned rear-ended accidents usually end up with the rear-ending vehicle paying..as I do not think I am completely at fault, is there anyway I can prove this? Is there still a chance I'm going to pay even though he was at fault too?

road crossings: why should i be forced through a maze, so that idiots might be protected?
Not all rear end collisions are the fault of the back car. If the police filed a report that said it was a no fault crash than your insurance is responsible for your car and his will be responsible for his car. Notify your insurance as soon as possible an let them handle it.does anybody know of one of those driving places ?
99% of the time, if you run into someone.....you are at faultIn my experience, the police said no fault, then the guy is not able to do anything else about it. Any claim through an insurance needs the police report, which in your case doesn't blame either one of you. Let the insurance companies handle it
I need to see home made video of sleepy female drivers. For research. Where may I find these?
usually anyone that rear ends someone is at fault, its called defensive driving. Even if they were to stop suddenly and you rear end them, you would still be at fault, cause you were not keeping a safe distance, and able to stop in time. Its just how the law is.Has anyone else noticed that when it's really nice weather people drive like morons?
You are right in that the person who rear ends another car is usually at fault as you are supposed to be in control of your vehicle at all times. You were also going the wrong way down a one way street. If the police report states it was no fault, I would let your insurance company take care of it. That's what you pay them for...
what is the driving age in iowa??
um something similar happened to me. and iw as afraid the guy would charge me with somethin..so i contacted my insuarnace company and they basically asked me all these questions and they weren't goingn to let this guy charge me or make me pay for anything. so if you are insuared i would contact your insuarance company and let them no. also go to your county attorney and you can easly talk to him and get a like ..ughh i don't remeber what it's called..but say you got a ticket or something for the wreck later on (which happened to me) you would just get a paper sayin you aren't saying your guilty or not guilty..but you ahve to stay clean for 6 months and all violations will be dropped. but yeah that's what happened to me..so hope it helps..so talk to your insuarance company if you do get charged or something go to your district county attorney guy. ohh plea of abaence (sp?) is what that was called.More Questions & Answers ...
