Which towns have the old roadside parking meters?

A driver can't call in to report that he's being held at gunpoint or something of that nature without letting the attacker know that he's reporting them. In planes, pilots have secret mechanisms that report a hijacking to the ground without having to say anything out loud, but that wouldn't work as well with taxis. Instead, they have a light on the outside that's not visible to passengers inside the taxi, but lets other drivers know that there's a problem and to call 911 for them. So, it can protect drivers from bad passengers.

Should cars be banned for polluting the air?

You could do the same concept with a button in the back for the passenger to let people know about the driver, but the driver would be aware of the button and break it ahead of time if he was planning to kidnap people, so that idea doesn't really work the other way around.

Is the Cosatto Go Safe Baby car seat a good one to have?

As you can imagine, the taxi driver lets lots of different people into the cab. Some of these people want more than just a ride. Well . . . because these people will usually disallow the driver to pick up a cell phone or inform the dispatcher that he is in distress, this discreet system has been implemented. It probably works well in Toronto (them folks are so nice) but in New York people are not so ready to part with their minutes. (kidding)
