what position should the little switch be in when driving at night to deflect light from behind. i think it shoud be pushed forward(toward the hood) to deflect. pulled in(toward the back seat) for normal driving. BF and I have been debating this. Please, need acurate answer. TY

The rear view mirror tab should be all the way forward for day driving. This way, at night, you pull the tab towards you and the main reflection deflects up to the ceiling. OK - to answer your question - with the switch down - position your mirror so it is viewing the left / center rear of your car which is the greatest blind spot. During the day switch is normally down, at night when the lights behind you are a bother then switch up. The normal position though is switch down.
Something to know if you use your right side out side mirror to pass some one on your right. When you can see the entire front of their car in your mirror you have passed them far enough to go ito their lane.
