Question:
We have a 78 Chevy Caprice that my hubby just refuses to get rid of. I was wondering if there is anyway to install a latch system for car seats in a vehicle this old. Can a dealer do it for relatively cheap or is it even possible. Does anyone know? The back seat doesn't latch in properly and I dread having our children in there despite the fact the car is a tank.

Do you think that after this fatal school bus crash in Alabama,...?
YES, IT CAN BE FIXED, BUT A DEALER ONLY GETS PARTS FOR CARS NOT OLDER THAN TEN YEARS OLD. SO IF THE PARTS STORE CAN'T GET IT YOU MAY HAVE TO GO TO AN AUTO SALVAGE YARD, WELL AT LEAST IF YOU TAKE IT OUT THERE YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO FIX YOURS THATS WHAT I DO FOR HARD TO FIND PARTS.Should I always keep my driver's side door unlocked while driving?
What type of latch are you asking about? I know most newer child seats have provisions for shoulder harnesses although probably not an option in 1978. Are the seat belts exposed through through the seat? Most state law enforcement agencies require all occupants to be belted in. Sorry if this is not what you wanted to know.More Questions & Answers ...
