How do street lights know to change when you pull up?
Semi's are slow(extremely slow starting from a stop) and people want to be in front of them as soon as possible.THE DRAFT FROM THE LARGE SEMI ALLOWS THE CAR TO MOVE AT THE SAME SPEED USING LESS POWER...ALSO THE FURTHER YOU MOVE BACK BEHIND THE WIND RESISTANCE INCREASES

Personal Ego of the Driver "I can get in front of him!!". How stupid. The braking distance for a semi is much greater than your car. If he hits you he will do a lot more damage than a car ever could.Should onboard cameras and microphones record truckdriver behavior while driving the big rigs?
So I also do not understand why car drivers want to test if the truck drivers are awake!!.

Do you live in Dallas? That's the way you're supposed to drive, right? That's how they do it here. I suppose there are a lot of people who have a death wish. People don't realize that driving a car is the SINGLE MOST DANGEROUS thing you do daily. Why 9 out 10 people that hate music from cars have or enjoy loud exhaust from motorcycles?
Al lot of this is simple ignorance. Lot's of people do not really "get it" when they are told that you mst maintain a safe distance when behind oter vehicles of all kinds. Another reason they tailgate big trucks is "drafting" to save fuel. The winds behind a large trck actuall apply some "pull" and can save a very small amount of fuel but it is not a safe practice if there is any problem wit the truck you are behind.Do you think driving a tractor trailer is easy?
As for getting too close in front of a large vehicle like a big rig, that is just plain stupid. A loaded rig can't stop as quickly as a car. So zipping around a truck just in time to cut over to take your exit is really not smart. If for any reason, you have to brake suddenly there is a great chance the truck will end up on top of your car!
What is the safest car for a teenager just starting to drive?
Mainly becuase cars use the semi as a draft. But as a truck driver I cannot see up to 70 feet behind me, that is the only true blindspot on a truck. One other thing is please do not sit on a trucks bumper when at a redlight or stop sign give that truck plenty of room because a lot of the time trucks will roll back a few inches or a few feet depending on the street, the weight of the truck, and the driver.More Questions & Answers ...
