Why do switched off windscreen wipes point to the left?

Question:
Just noticed today whilst bored in the rain in the car waiting for school to come out.....that my windscreen wipers whilst switched off, lying down, pointed to the left. In the UK the steering wheel is on the right so wondered if it made any difference if wipers wiped from bottom up to right as they do now. Or from bottom up to left.
I even looked at other cars and they all did the same.....laid down pointed left. Any insight please?

Is LPG safe for cars? Do Automakers fit/ retrofit their tech in their vehicle?

Only in countries where we drive on the left.... as the wiper rises left to right the driver get's the biggest wiped area of windscreen, with the top corner getting wiped too unlike the top corner on the passenger side.
On continental cars, they are the other way around, and if you look, on lots of UK cars tou can see where the redundant mounting points would be.

Do you think that cellphone use should be banned when driving?

because they don't point to the right

If deaf people are allowed to drive (and they are), then why is it illegal to use headphones while driving?

The reason for this is if the wipers pointed to the right your area of sight would be reduced. As the driver you need the largest area of sight of anyone in the vehicle.

Can you talk on your cell phone safely while it is charging?

Because they don't like to show their feminine side. It is a well knowbn fact that most men hang to the left!

When you got your license for the first time ever what did you score on the driving and written test?

It may be due to the designers natural tendency to go from right to left because we tend to be right handed.
We write from left to right which is against the natural way. Other languages do it 'correctly'
If you paint a room you start from the top right hand corner - and work to the left,
also it is 'natural to drive on right for same reason.
We drive on wrong side of the road in UK
the last answer is spot on though.

I have a question about towing a car during the daytime.?

I have a car and a pick up and they both point to the rigft when parked as it's called when they are off.

If I can't see with one of my eyes can I get my drivers liscense:(?

When wipers are in the parked position they tend to rise up the screen at speed until all the free movement in the linkage is taken up, its caused by airflow which increases with the speed of the vehicle. If they were parked to the right they would affect the drivers vision as they rose up. On some vehicles the wipers are offset in relation to the centreline of the screen so have to park on the right for rhd drive or on the left for lhd drive. They usually have 4 holes on the mounting panel, two of which will be blocked of with blanking plugs.

Is there a law mandating the sparsity or abundance of "Speed Limit" signs?

They point to the left because they are commies.
