Question:
Yesterday I took the CT driver's license test, and I had read through and thouroughly studied the manual. I passed the written test with only one wrong answer, which was regarding what percent of all vehicle-related fatalities involved alcohol, 45% rather than 60% or whatever. But I then took the driving portion of the test. I was doing fine, although I accidentally ran over the curb a little when I was exiting the parking lot, but considering there was a truck on my left and a car coming towards me, it was inevitable. I turned onto a one-way street, and deciding it was like those streets where there were two lanes that could turn left, I turned left from there. And he failed me. It says nothing about turning from one-way streets in the manual, and I've never driven on one before in driver's ed or with my parents. Would you, in your own opinion, consider this to be right?

ROADWORKS! When roads are to be coned off, what's the most logical way to do it?
if nothing was mentioned in the manual i would make sure that the driving instructor gave a clear reason as the existance of that rule. if he was just failing you based on his own safety (mayby u floored it around the corner and started screaming) then they reserve the right to fail you at anytime they feel unsafe. so just make sure the instructor gives u full reasoning for failing you..so basically. just make sure that all your small things are down (dont slam on the gas, gentle braking) and that should make the instructor more easy on you.
If I can only afford two new tires at the moment for my SUV, should they go on the front or rear?
Although we drive on the 'other ' side of the road I had a similar issue when I went for my license so i'm guessing the rules are the same.Engaging the main/foot brake before starting your car?
When turning ... our rule book says turn left from the left side of your lane, turn right from the right side - this is obviously meant so vehicles behind can go around. What this doesn't take into consideration is where two lanes are marked to turn the same corner. A stickler for the rules (like my testing officer) would say you can only use the one lane closest to the direction of turn

I would dock some points off but not fail you ...but the key to takeing the driving test is to listen to the person giving the instructions and ask questions if your not sure on when to turn or where to turn ...but always keep your eyes on the road even when asking a question or just talkingMore Questions & Answers ...
