My 8 mo. little girl is getting big for her infant seat, but is not at the hight or weight requirment to graduate to the next safety seat a toddler would use. She also sweats like crazy around her neck and head because of that head support thing. I wan't safety a priority. Is it unsafe to remove it now that she has control of her head and neck?

Unless the neck support is attached (like glued or sewn on) there is no reason why you need to leave it on.They aren't required, they're just an add on for little babies who have poor neck control. Your daughter, at 8 months old, has plenty of neck control, so it's fine to take this out.
But before you do, make sure your daughter fits her seat properly. You needs to ensure that she is within the weight limits for your specific seat, and that the top of her head is atleast an inch or more from the top of the seat.

you can get a seat that is not so called infant but it can be placed forward or backward, there are also things that you can buy that stabilize the neck it is just snapped in or placed in the seatit can be a safety issue if u get in an accident it could hurt her neck she could get whiplash depends on how the seat is made what kind of car it's in

I don't think neck control is the issue but rather neck support. Remember that the seat has to support her neck while driving but more importantly it has to support the neck in a collision. Even a small fender bender can give an adult whip-lash, I'd hate to think what it could do to a child. If its really bothering her, buy a new seat. Take her with you so she can "try them on" and see about getting a seat that is able to "grow" with her.check on the web site for the manufacturer of your seat and send them an email requesting this information. Explain all the facts and they may be able to give you an alternative choice.

Some of the large forward type can also be placed rear facing.If she exceeds the weight limit of her seat, or her head is above the shell of the seat, she is too big and it is not safe. There are many good convertible seats on the market. The Britax Marathon allows rear-facing til 33 pounds; the Cosco Scenera allows to 35. Make sure you get a seat with a 5-point harness; the old overhead sheild variety are not as safe. They can cause internal injury in a crash.
