Make sure that you understand all the controls fully, before you even start the engine. then practice start, stop, start, stop, until you have confidence in that. Then move onto gear changing. Practice in a wide open space where there is no traffic to worry about.
When you can successfully move the car forwards, and stop it, then practice steering around some obstacles like plastic cones, or plastic bottles. Then try reversing. When you are confident with moving the car around, then go onto a quiet road and drive around there until you are confident of being able to keep in line with the kerb.
Then go somehere a little more busy with traffic lights. By now you will be feeling confident enough to drive most places, and the fear will have gone.
The only way is to get in a car with a calm, competent, licensed driver, and drive. Usually a large parking lot is the best place, so that there is no traffic. If I can do it, anyone can.
