Question:
Well I'm 18 almost 19 and i've been stalling long enough to do get driving lessons and do my road test. My mom is kinda forcing me to learn how to drive and now I'm going to start taking lessons with some guy. Ever since I could remember, I always had this same dream that occurs every few years, it's me in a car, swirving around and crashing on the highway, then the dream would always end there. I am seriously terrified of driving to the point where I get so nervous I can't think straight and where my feet aren't steady enough to use the pedals. My aunt let me drive her car with her a month ago and it was alright, the only freaky thing was going down into the garage (I live in a apartment) and trying to drive in such a small space, I was so hesitant to park because I thought I was going to hit the pillar near the parking space. I really don't know what I'm going to do within the next few days! :(

Is it against the law to use a cell phone while driving or is it just a recomended practice not to?
I was pretty scared to drive when I first started out. What I did was take one of my parents with me and go to a familiar place that there wasn't a lot of traffic. I drove that same block until I could do without hesitation. Then I went to a place where there was a little heavier traffic and did the same thing. After a few months of practicing I tried the highway. It was pretty scary, but I pulled through. I kept going one exit, getting off, and going back the other way. Practice is the key to making yourself comfortable. I practiced for about a year before I went for my license, so don't be in a hurry, if you rush yourself you'll make it worse. Take your time and enjoy it, driving can be a really relaxing thing. Good luck. What in your opinion is the best way to get a tailgater off your behind?
I agree with the first commenter. I, too, was scared when I was learning to drive...pretty much terrified. But over time and with practice that fear faded. Keep in mind, your fear keeps you super alert...the chances of you doing something wrong are pretty low because of that. At least, that's what I found. When I got all panicky it was like some higher part of my brain took over and all ended well.Is it true that using mobile phones while filling gasoline at gas station can possibly cause fire?
I say do a lot of practice in empty parking lots, and deserted roads.
Does anybody think the new laws on driving whist using a mobile too lenient?
Hang in there.
A car coming toward you flashes its headlights. What does it mean?
Im wondering if you have ever been in an accident. Before i learned to drive, i had been in a few car accidents(not little ones but ones where we are stopped and get rear ended by a car going 50 and pushed into the oncoming traffic lane to get hit by them type accidents) Accidents like that are usually not as bad as they seem on TV coming from my own experience in accidents. I was pretty excited to learn to drive and that first day I got my license and was able to drive on my own i was pretty nervous, but that feeling went away pretty quick for me. Remember that most people that get in car crashes do live. Crashes happen every day and they are just as likely to happen if you are a passenger or a driver. Personally i would rather be driving than riding as a passenger because at least i could have some control of how i would crash.Does any1 no where i can get a breathalyser fitted in my car?
Your fear of driving will only disappear if you get driving lessons. You are scared right now because u don't know much. Pray and trust your driving instructor.Question about learner drivers, UK/USA?

Please email me. Ta?
Find a BIG empty parking lot (get up early on the weekend if you have to) and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!Time behind the wheel is the only way you'll become familiar with the vehicle and how it responds.
Think of the car as your friend. BUT- REMEMBER it's a very DUMB friend. It will ONLY do EXACTLY what you tell it to do.... EVEN if what you tell it to do is WRONG!
Take a deep breath and relax-
My fourth kid is now learning to drive so I know what it's like.
How many t imes can you take driving test?
Once you get the hang of it and get your license, look for a local chapter of SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) or other local sports car club, and find a local AutoCross (AutoX). Autocrossing is the BEST way to really learn how to control a car in a safe environment.
Good Luck!
