I'm curious to hear from someone who drives an emergency vehicle how much an impact cell phones have had on getting from place to place. In the past year, on several occasions I've seen drivers on the phone not move out of the way for emergency vehicles. Granted, I've seen that happen with people who aren't on the phone, but that's a lot more infrequent than with people who are on the phone.
What is wrong with the way I drive? (read details.)?
I'd just like to hear from emergency vehicle drivers if people talking on the phone has been a major issue or not.

My friend who drives a fire truck was just taking about people not getting out of the way. He mentioned that some people don't even notice him because they're on their cell phone or just don't pay attention, but that most people do the right thing and get out of the way. He had actually mentioned this because someone else had said that they were on their cell phone and didn't even see a stop sign. This is were defense driving comes in big time. Some people have and do so dumb thing when they get scared, like slam on there breaks pull to the right. And my favorite in try and follow you very close to get a head of other traffic.
