Question:
If I add a offroading front bumper to my truck, will it affect the airbags?
Answers:
What is your favorite fire truck..pumper or ladder truck?
not at all cause the sensors for the airbage are inside or behind the radiator support usually with a yellow plug and the are activated by the sudden movement of the vehicleWhy aren't there seat belts on the school bus?
first of all it depends on the vehicle and where the airbag sensors are located. if your new bumper is in direct obstruction of the sensors than the airbags would not go off unless the impact was great enough to push the modified bumper far enough to activate the sensor. i assume since its for offroading it is there for extra strength correct? essentially you would have to do enough damage to the new bumper that it fails in the same fashion as the original bumper. now go knock over a few trees, have fun.Possible....new generation SRS have a central sensor/arming computer that measures negative acceleration, pitch, yaw and vehicle speed. Replaceing the OEM bumper with a stronger one could change the dynamics somewhat in a crash. Just keep your seatbelt tight and forget about it -- it's much more dependable than an airbag anyway.
