Question:
I see on cars that children under 12 should not sit in front seat since most new cars come with an airbag. However, the car manufacturers leave out the fact that some adults are short. I am 5 foot 1. Some 14 years olds are towering over me where I work! Could I be "too short" to sit in the front seat of a car with an air bag? thanks!

Its an age thing, of an average weight, and height for a 12 yr old, and younger. Nothing saying that you have to be soo short to ride in the front, or back. I had heard a weight of like 60lbs though, but seems a bit high.when can a child not ride in a car seat? what are the laws in california?

Best thing to do if nobody wants to chauffeur you around, is to position your seat as far back as possible from the dashboard. This will reduce the initial impact if you do become involved in an accident.More Questions & Answers ...
