It's a whole other life. I've been a firefighter for 9 years now and couldn't imagine being anything else. The fire dept is my home away from home. It's wonderful to be surrounded by others that share in your passion. It's amazing how you grow to love these guys and girls just as you do your own family, hell they are my family. It's not a job by no means it's an obsession. How many jobs do you hear when a member is lost 4 states away from you that will make all other employees at a company feel pain and sence of loss from someone they have never seen.
