What is the craziest thing you saw someone doing while driving?
No. Once you've driven a Landrover you won't feel the same driving anything else ever again. Why does the ambulance sign appear backwards?
Not in my life time.Should there be an upper age limit on driving?
I would have to, i would not be able to afford it!What would be your first thought?
My car is a practical working car, I use to to travel to work and back etc, but have 2 dogs, and also horses, so it goes to the stables, actually gets muddy and tows!
I have already downsized, getting rid of my Ford Explorer as that was too juicy and used petrol. At one point I had three dogs, so needed the boot space. I now only have two dogs, so have downsized to a Kia, diesel.
Think the tax is unfair, it is the school run mums, that have sparkly, shiny cars, and drive around town that are the problem! lol!
Trouble is everyone will be trying to get rid of the 4x4, so resale value will go down the pan, so think it will be very difficult to sell on, or to get a good price if you want to trade it in!
Who manufactures the manhole covers for the city of Daytona and FL Department of Transportation?
Ho hum!
If Driving and Drinking is prohibited, then why do Bars have Parking lots?
i dont have one.but if i did i wouldnt be happy about the tax rise...alot of people use 4by4s for practicality ie rural peopleWhen do you shift from 2-wheel to 4-wheel drive?
No i would just get rid of the goverment in stead, with everyones help of course. Why are there braille keypads on the atm at drive thru banks?
no, never.it won't make any difference, my 4X4 stays.
Well the tax isn't that much anyway. If the insurance doubles then i would get rid of it.
F*ck no ill never get rid of my truck those damn bastards can have their little foofoo cars and their precise Prius all they want to.Yeah I get 11 miles a gallon but when theres bad weather mud, snow gravel roads I know ive got enough car to handle the situation without getting stuck or even sweating it.If my truck starts sliding in the snow I put in 4 wheel drive problem solved plus I can run their cars off the road. Plus I can afford it
What are some tips on walking saftey?
HOPE SO THEN THERE WANT BE SO MANY MOTHERS AT THE SCHOOLS BLOCKING THE ROADS .Please give me 10 tips for fuel efficiency-buses?
I do not own a 4x4 but i just wish to say that most people that do own these vehicles can well afford the extra money so it would not really matter if the revenue was trebled ( which maybe could be a good thing as the extra money could help with other more worthy causes ) but maybe that the people whose use of these cars who can prove they are essential and not just a fashion accessory could claim some rebate and the posers pay up.I don't own a 4x4 and so don't suffer from the tax. However...
Which way does a cement mixer rotate in England?
The communist wannabe's in charge of the UK today seem to hate all forms of transport. So it's pretty much guaranteed that my Mondeo will be classed as a 4x4. It's also likely that Mr. Everyman's Focus will be a "4x4".
1998 windstar windows, heater, turn signals, radio, dont work?
I reckon they will use this tax as a way to punish any car owners, town or country.
What does it mean when the sign posted on a road way lists a speed limit of 80km/h?
I mean, are we forgetting that a LR Freelander is a 4x4, and yet it is smaller than a non-4x4 BMW 5-Series.
I don't like people who use a Range Rover as a fashion accessory, but I utterly despise inter-class jealousy. There are people in this country that hate cars like this, simply because they are bought by aspirational, middle class families.
Why are so many drivers so awkward at a four-way stop?
If the Range Rover ceased to exist, I'm sure there would be an "Alliance Against Urban Vectra's" charity set up in place of the current thing. and yes, anyone who can afford a Range Rover in London can afford the new tax and Congestion Charge...
What year was the driving test introduced in the UK?
If I was forced out of my car through tax hikes (I don't drive a 4x4 but some liberals want to lump Mondeo and Vectra sized cars in with 4x4's...) then I would burn rubbish in front of transport2000's (they are a car haters group) offices to create unnessessary CO2 just to annoy them.I don't like the encroaching onto our freedoms the car-hate lobby is up to. If they were serious about pollution etc and not just jealous they would put their money where their mouth is and invest in building a hydrogen fuel or a nuclear plant rather than blaming everything on cars.
When did Truckers Start Using CB Radios?
Yeah! Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!I'm sure one of you knowledgable lot will know...?
Unfortunately given the very dumb way this increase in road tax will work many innocent people will be forced to give up there 4x4's and the idiots that use them for school runs etc will still continue to use them. There are many farmers and people that live in remote parts of the county that absolutely need a 4x4 to do there daily work and do not cause any problems with respect to congestion.
If the government was really trying to remove the 4x4's from cities were they do cause problems why not ban them from any body who has a city post code?
They would have the right to appeal if from example they had to use the 4x4 for essential trip to family members who live in the county.
Special permits could be issued to people who have to travel into city centres on business requiring the use of a 4x4.
I think there are many interesting and innovative methods to reduce the impact of large 4x4's but as usual the government has jumped on the band waggon and gone for another cash cow method of raising more tax revenue.
Will the Graco (Pooh) baby car seat fit in a super-cab ford f-150 4 door?(not Crew/quad cab)?
i would if i had one . I drive a C1 it costs £40 a year to tax itOk so i was driving my brand new BMW and my boyfriend was sitting in the passenger seat?
My motor can and does carry 7 people, my family. One family, one car. If I did not have a dirty great gas guzzling monster, (That`s just to appease the jealous half brains) it is in fact a 12 year old shogun that does 27 mpg on a run. Without it, going anywhere with the family would require 2 vehicles and even at 50 mpg they would cost more to run than one 7 seater. .Now put brain in gear, Why anyone should think that I should be penalised because some wealthy bird uses her fwd. motor to pick the kids up from school, beats the shlt out of me.What type of question do they ask at induction for health and safety for refuse collectors?
No - just get rid of the 'Ole Sh*t for brains Taxgrabber Brown'How are the government going to classify 4x4''s.
Will this tax only affect 'big' 4x4's or will Subaru Justy's also be affected.
What a stupid idea!
With high fuel prices (most of it being duty), people will decide by other criteria if they can afford to run a 4x4.
But with such negative feelings fueled by 'eco do gooder;s', resale values are so low that it is more economical to pay for fuel etc than to buy a more economical vehicle.
Plus I have better visibility up here!
And have you tried pulling a horse box in a Toyota Pius (oops Prius)
I don't have a 4x4 but I think it's stupid rising it that much for so called "green tax" I mean what do they actually do with the extra money.
Has anyone else had trouble with their 2001 Mustang's seatbelts?
Hell will freeze over first.I live in the Highlands of Scotland and NEED mine. We've just had blizzards and 6" plus snow fall. I would be housebound with just a 2 WD car.
Annoyingly, mine is in 2 WD most of the time unless it thinks it needs to be in 4WD which doesn't happen very often.
However, as the Chancellor lives in the South of England, nae doot he will tax us all the same. However, I wonder if he is prepared to give up his gas guzzler limo which uses more fuel than my X-Trail?
In case of fire is it possible to use helicopter for evacuation of people top of the building?
not a prayer! we love our 2.5 landrover discovery,we have kids a dog and a huge extended family!having 7 seats is better for us than having to use 2 cars surely?more eco friendly! our car is regularly serviced, well maintained and very well looked after.we dont use it for city shopping(no point, cant find a bleedin parkin space anyhow!)im assuming if mr brown is serious about this increase he himself is going to use the crappy public transport systems we seem to be lumbered with in this country?and leave his huge guzzeling car at home!does this increase also include ambulances, police 4x4s,doctors vehicles and other rescue vehicles? wot a clever idea mr brown! an u think you can run this country(i write this while rolling around on the floor laffin me *** off!) if you ask me its just another money makin scam of the governments, because the greedy sods arent gettin enough from booze, cigs and petrol etc! I WILL KEEP MY 4X4 AT WHATEVER COST AND HOPE THAT EVERY OWNER OF A 4X4 IN THIS COUNTRY BOYCOTTS THE TAX INCREASE AND REFUSES TO PAY! ACTUALLY WE SHOULD DO THE SAME WITH CIGS AND BOOZE, REFUSE TO DRINK AND SMOKE AND WATCH THE GOVERNMENT CRAP ITS PANTS WHEN THEY REALISE THEIR MONEY IS GOING DOWN THE SWANNY COZ THERES NO TAX OR VAT COMIN IN!!!Have we gone to far with political correctness?
I doubt whether the hike in the car tax has anything to do with removing 4x4s off the road. It's there to generate extra income and "to look green" (good for votes at the moment)... but couple of questions.Did u pass your written test for driving the 1st time?
What is the likelyhood of the tax being reduced by any future government.. HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Thus, you're stuck with it, and no doubt it will continue to increase.
Do you think that the driver's permit age should be raised? Please explain your answers!!!?
Secondly.. 4x4s are not being targeted due to their physical size (regardless of whether you live in Chelsea or the Highlands), but due to their CO2 emission; thus ANY car that pumps out high emission will get hit with the tax.
Different speed limits for drivers of different abilities?
I have a 4x4 that falls into Band F, thus no impact on me.
The local BMW garage uses a bit of inner city dual road as a test track, shall I call the police?
Is it not up to the vehicle manufacturers to produce more efficient engines. Do so, reduces the Co2 emission, and hopefull one day we will all end up paying just £40 per year for car tax.
Is it OK to just put the overdrive in an "ON" position no matter what the driving condition is?
Should we as 4x4 drivers lobby the manufacturers and get them to spend less time on gadgets for the Chelsea market and do some serious R&D into fuel efficiency.. either that, or just change to a diesel and run on chipfat.
How can u improve vehical safety from people driving drunk?
Just my 2p(s) worth.. unlike Mr Brown, it won't cost the earth.
