Question:
This may seem a silly question but I often see petrol leaks from cars on the road and I want to know whether it is dangerous if you walk in it etc.?
Answers:
Driving uphill/downhill on a slippery road?
You're more likely to see diesel leaks on the road as petrol evaporates too fast. Diesel can be very slippy, and worse when the roads are wet. It is a major cause of road accidents, especially to motorcyclists, but is very difficult to prove who let it leak. The most common cause is large diesel vehicles over-filling their tanks so the fuel leaks out when it moves. It's not dangerous to walk in, unless you slip, and isn't flammable at the temperature it will be at lying on the ground.
Whats better: AWD/4WD or FWD w/ Traction control.. and why.. if we get small/med amounts of snow?
So long as your feet aren't on fire, or you dont lick your feet/shoes it should be ok. Careful not to slip!Petrol evaporates pretty quickly in the open air as long as you don't throw a match on it, might not do the sole's of your shoes much good though if they are synthetic
no not really it can do chemical damage to your shoes if you walk in it all day long for ages, but thats not going to happen. anyway if the petrol is sitting there for a while it will lose its ability to burn
why do people compare street racing to the fast and the furious?
If there is a petrol leak there is always a danger of a explosion and fire risk ,report any petrol leakWhy are these idiots driving with foglights on, when its very clear out and no fog at all?
Only if you are smokingmattresses on the freeway in Los Angeles - Are they driving you crazy?
But then again that's bad for you anyway
Did I really stop my car while the schoolbus is flashing the amber lights on the top?
Petrol fuel evaporates very quick and it is the vapour that is the most inflamable so care must be taken with naked flames in that environment
No, if you just step in it best precaution is wash it off as soon as possible. you may get some irritation. I have been drenched in it and other than a headache there was no problems. I think it causes cancer but I'd imagine you would have to bathe in it to get that far.
