My daughter is over 3 now and is getting grumpy about being in a car seat.Although she is my 4th I cannot remember how old the others were when they went into a booster seat,or is there anything inbetween?Please give me some good advice as her safety is paramount.

If you're in the US, it depends on the laws for the state where you live. In quite a few of them, the law states the child has to be in a carseat (harnessed) up to 4 and 40 lbs. Then in a booster up to 8 and 80lbs. Note the "and", is not an "or".Now that road signs in Polish have been erected in Cheshire ?
The AAP also currently states that it is safest to rear-face up to the limit of the seat. So, technically, if your 3-yo is not 35lbs or too high for a convertible seat, he/she would be safest rear-facing.

The law states that a child over 3 needs a child car seat unless they are over 135cm tall (4ft 5"). There are a few exceptions though (see the link below).If your daughter still complains, tell her that it's the law and that if she doesn't use the car seat, mummy will have to go to prison (although realistically, you'd probably just get a fine, by a 3 year old wont know that).
