I can see the concept here, and there are "black boxes" that will tell you the information after the fact, but I just wanted to point out how dangerous it is to shut down a car when it's on the road. If I'm going 75 in a 65 zone to get past two big rigs that are sandwiching me between them in a middle lane, the last thing I need is the car to lose power and the guy behind me hit me when I don't have anywhere to swerve to. Don't put your kids in danger.
