Plane vs car safety question.?
The above poster gave you the laws for the UK - as you can see from that link, car-seats/boosters are required to age 12, or 135 cm.What is the allowed BAC rate in New York and most major states?
Your 3 year old would need a proper harnessed seat appropriate to his/her weight.
For your 6 yr old, it would depend on his/her weight. If she/he is more than 18 kg (or really really close to) than it would be okay to use a booster, but at that age, a high back is really better, for a few reasons. A recent US study showed a remarkable difference when using high backed boosters in side impact crashes - with a high back, the childs head would hit the "wings" of the carseat, which are often equiped with special foam (like the stuff in bike helmets), in an accident. In a booster cushion, the childs head wouldn't have these wings, and could just hit the door of the car.
Can I sue for no Air bags going off? Front air bags didn't go off nor did the side airbags?
Additionally, high back boosters aid in keeping the seatbelt properly positioned, and make for great sleep support should your child ever fall asleep in the car.
I'm no longer in the UK, but I've always found great deals at kiddicare.co.uk.
Why are you not supposed to get back in your car when pumping gas?
Hope that helps!
