not according to the show mythbusters. they set up a life size model and tried many different experiments and could not get it to cause a fire or explosiion
The local news station in my area showed how a spark from a cell phone actually did contribute to a fire. I don't know all the details. Just saw the pics they had on tv showing it on fire.
