Question:
According to the description on webpage of Tire Rack, it shows that "Use of studded tires is often prohibited or restricted. Check with local authorities to confirm legality." I'm curious about that whether the studdable tires really often be prohibited? If it's true, can studdable tires be used in PA state?
Answers:
Why do people who drive SUVs and big trucks not understand the concept of a compact parking spot?
I have used studs in Pa. There is a limited window in which they can be used; can't be on before a certain date and have to be off before another date. Check with a local inspection station or the local State Police barracks; should be Nov 1 to April 15 I believe last check. Will they ever have virtual driving tests?
Unless you plan on driving on alot of ice, I would recommend buying studless snow tires. The compound they make these tires out of really stick to slippery surfaces. I have had both studded and studless, and there is no comparison. The studless stick better, make less noise, and you dont have to worry about taking them off by a certain date.More Questions & Answers ...
