Wow. Here's a hot button topic for everyone.I'll put my 2 cents in.
Can I drive around with a damaged car?
In general, I'd say no, 16 is a good age to begin to drive.
What is the age & weight minimum for a child in California not to be required to use a booster seat?
However, let me qualify my remark.
Can I make it with this tread?
I am a big proponent of adequate training, lots of time spent with qualified instructors and parents, and strict testing and licensing rules by the issuing state. It's a big responsibility to put yourself behind the wheel. I think most 16 year olds are ready to handle it, but I will agree with many of the other answerers, that individual better show he/she can be responsible before mom and dad turn over the keys. I personally know 18 year-olds who don't have the maturity to be driving!
Why isn't there a speed limit sign on Loving Field Road?
Finally, I'd say the car plays a factor too. I wouldn't expect a new driver to handle some huge SUV or souped-up sports car. A small to midside chevy or ford (like a Cavalier, Malibu, Focus, or Escort.) would be a good choice.
In America, why cant a 4 way 'stop' at intersection be replaced by 'yeild' to save time ?
Good luck and tell the new driver (if there is one) to be safe.
How do i get over my fear of driving for the first time?
I think the age to be able to drive should be younger.No. If you can sex it up then you can drive.
In the movies where there's a bomb and they turn on the car and it explodes. Help!?
no, where i'm from u can a license @ 16i think it depends on the person...if it is a person that is more mature, then they could definitely be able to drive at 16 but people who have not matured as much as others should probably wait until they are 18 or so...
ummm no i don't think so
cuzz my brother drove at age fifteen....
it depends on the kid. my 16 yr old can drive worth a crap!
How to I avoid falling asleep while driving?
No, I don't think it's too young. I started driving at 16 (well, I actually started at 14 with a learner's permit), and I drove pretty well and responsibly. I think it really depends on the person. A mature 16 year old is likely to handle it pretty well. An immature and irresponsible 16 year old shouldn't drive just like an immature and irresponsible 25 year old shouldn't drive.Whats the difference between pickup, light-truck/ suv, and sedan safety requirements?
Why certainly not! It depends if they are responsible, patient, and not to cocky on the road. Driving is a big deal, they could be endangering themselves an others. Sixteen is suitable to drive. My son wants to learn to drive but at 6ft 4in and having size 17 (uk size) feet is struggling?
By the Time I was 15 I was driving myself to work and I'm 24 .I you know that's good! What if an emergency happens you can drive someone to help.
Do you really have to turn off your car when you fill it with gas?
I think that its okay..if its just a learner's permit, and you have have someone that is a licensed driver at least eighteen years of age. At sixteen, you are to inexperienced..and you have to learn the ropes of being a safe defensive driver. Is it it legal to be a passenger in a vehicle whilst you have an open bottle of alcohol with you.?
It depends on the kid. My 16 year old son was mature enough when he got his. His cousin just turned 18 and is getting his finally. His maturity is still a little questionable. It just depends on the person. I think the parent plays a huge role in getting the person ready to drive and to handle the responsiblitly as well. I wasn't ready at 16. I was 17 and glad I waited the extra year. That was me though. Everyone is different. There are some 16 year olds I know who are more responsible than some of the 30 year olds I know. You have to start driving sometime. Even if they move the legal age to drive to 18, the 18 year olds would still be inexperienced. I think 16 is a good age because then the parents still have control and restrictions they can place on driving.
With that being said, it's probably not a bad idea to keep driving privilages to a minimum until a person turns 18 years old.
yes they are too young
when u r 16 years old u think u r it and u know everything, but i in reality they r not so mature.
Yes im turning 16 in may so i get my license in june because i had my permit since last year
Do I need a provisional drivers license to operate a forklift..?
yesI depends on the maturity of the 16 year old and the car. IE no 69 charger with a hemi a 4 cylinder tracer would be perfect to start with. Or to not look soo much like a mom taxi a focus. and you must know the type and amount of oil needed type of trans fluid. Get some one to show how to take care of the car you don't want a 16 year old stranded and scared at night.
Will a handbrake work if the brakes fail?
no. the more experience the drivers have, the better she or he perform. you don"t want to drive your car next to an inexperience driver. my dad make me start riding bike at age 6 . this gave me extra riding experience. i was the best driver in the class. 13 years later, still no accident or tickets. it help when you are a experience driverWhen did Truckers Start Using CB Radios?
no.. i guess it all depends on who u are and what u need to drive for. many people do it to take out their friends and have a good time and others for a job. theres no right or wrong on how you should use it but you need to have good common sense and should have some type of experience like having someone responsible teach youBreaking your Car over stop line And getting a ticket?
Age has nothing to do with one's ability do drive. If soemone is careful and responsible, then a 16 year old is just as good a driver as a 30 year old.How much doesa dui ticket cost?
I'm well past that age, but my considered opinion is that the age of a person does not reflect on that person's ability to take resposibility for his /her actions. I think there should be a minimum age, but I think it's more important that the new driver demonstrate with out a doubt that he or she is prepared to accept full responsibility for thier actions.Should stereo volumes be limited?
16 is not too young if they have had experience driving with an instructor and are comfortable with driving. while in training more time should be spent explaining the consequences of reckless driving. the fines should be higher for new drivers to act as an deterrent from showing off and driving irresponsibly.I just had some road rage called the CHP So what happens know that they have other cars Plate #??
no not at all.if you have confident that you wont go hit some on or break his face than ok.best of luck?In MY opinion, YES! if you drive anything like I did when I was 16.
Why do different countries drive on different sides of the road?
You have to learn sometime. If they upped the age to 20, people would be complaining about 20-year-old drivers because they're newbies. What are the affects of speeding?
