I have a large 3/4 ton truck with a V-10 engine & aggressive tires. Yes, you see me at the grocery store or on the highway sometimes but it gets used (and used hard) also. I haul a 35' 5th wheel trailer, a 20' gooseneck trailer, and LOTS of building materials, etc. and quite often.
If I were wealthy I'd have an economy car for when the truck isn't really necessary but I simply cannot find the money for more insurance, upkeep, taxes, plates, etc. not to mention a place to park another vehicle.
Having said all that, I DO ride my motorcycle when I can to save on gas, etc. & wonder why all those other people are driving gas-guzzling (in relative terms) automobiles.
Cars should be banned & we should all ride mopeds. Or better yet horses!
My point is, who gets to draw the line? Who gets to say what THEY drive is 'good' and anything larger is 'bad'?

BTW, in response to the guy below me... I too have a handicap permit, and do park my truck in the reserved space. I was hit on my cycle last summer & had my bones CRUSHED. I have a metal leg now, am in constant pain, and cannot walk far. What does my vehicle type have to do with that, huh?
Oh, I know, if I was driving my huge truck when the loser ran the stop sign & broadsided me I would be walking across the parking lot still today. There's one more reason large vehicles are safer.

Huh? My pickup is never empty! The bed is full of United Nations imposed sanctions paperwork that had no effect on the despots they were trying to control. I also sometimes transport loads of lib protesters to illegal immigration rallies. So you can see my truck is quite well loaded. With BS.I hate them! Hummers are worse! I live in LA where it's crowded enough, but then you get these jerks in their hummers trying to squeeze through.

The other day I was at an intersection waiting to pull out. I had to get partway out there to see around the parked traffic. Everyone could get by me just fine, until this Hummer came along. He stopped and honked, expecting me to back up. I just shook my head "no" at him. Pretty soon other people were honking at him to move, and he finally had to back up a little and drive around me. He was pissed. It was great!

Your wasting your breath people will always drive what they want as long as it is for sale and fuel is available. You are not going to deny a small penis white male of his rediculously monster sized SUV or Pickup. Are you drunk?I drive a '71 Mack truck around everyday. It only has one axle in the rear but it's still bigger than 90% of everything on the dang road. I took off the old 5th wheel hookup and bolted an old Ford pickup bed on her the other day and man you should see the looks I get around town now! I now drive the biggest, loudest, dirtiest pickup in the state and everyone else can just get the hell out of my way!
