I would get in touch with your local trading standards department for advice. The vehicle, like any goods has to be fit for purpose and it obviously isn't. If a fault is found with a vehicle within the first six months of ownership then the trader is liable for the repair, because the fault is deemed to have been there from time of purchase. This being said if you have bought a £100 - £200 clunker then it would be unreasonable for you to expect the dealer to pay out for a £500 engine repair. In this case the most you could expect is a refund.You can do it providing the car is MOT'd, taxed and insured. Also it cannot be causing an obstruction. Be careful here. If bought as seen, it's your problem as long as it was roadworthy at the time of purchase. That's the whole point.The garage may pursue you for damage to their reputation, and your car may be towed away as an obstruction. Technically, no-one has any right to park on the highway (in the UK) except in a designated parking place, yellow lines not withstanding.
