Question:
More specifically, do vehicular regulations (safety, emissions, etc..) differ from country to country? I'd imagine with so many countries being so close together, their requirements are essentially the same or similar, but I'd like to know more.
How many car accidents have you been in?
The reason I ask is because I live in El Paso, TX. Every day, thousands of cars & trucks come over here from Mexico. Many of them have all kinds of issues like inoperable brake lights/ turn signals. Broken windshields, steering/suspension is shot, blowin' all kinds of smoke...etc. In other words, total traffic hazard. Yet they're allowed to just drive on over the bridge and cause havoc on our roads. And the El Paso cops don't do jack about it either.
My job requires I drive around the city a lot, and those stinkin' cars & trucks from Mexico are the bane of my existence. A friend of mine who works for Customs says that as long as they can push the car over the bridge, they're good. Hardly seems fair or safe.
So how's it handled in Europe?

Is it safe to get water under the hood of your car?
Europe is tough. http://www.saabcentral.comFrom what I have seen on the forums of SC. They check for all sorts of nonsense. Things like whether upholstery is ok. Slight outside dents. Tools and jack.
Should they make driving tests harder for white people?
