ONCE! Long ago. I was on the inside lane, passing a car, going up hill. At the crest, a car in front of me was stopped trying to make a left turn. I tried to slow down (brake) and the peddle went straight to the floor! (I had an olive in my mouth and all of a sudden, swallowed it--I guess clearing the decks for action!)
