Drinking and driving kills far too many innocent people. Open alcohol just shouts out to the world that you intend to drink even if you haven't sipped yet. From the Nevada Revised Statutes:"2. did you have alcohol content in your body. did you blow below state level. if you blew below state level and you had an open container in the car, I would guess up to 6 months in jail and up to 2500 fine. the judge could suspended some or all of your jail time and fine if you were not over the limit of alcohol on your breath. and if you did have alcohol on your breath, the judge may suspended some or all of your jail time and make you pay the fine in full.Why do so many people take things so personal when someone goes ahead of them in the freeway?

anyway, it's way worse than a traffic ticket. Prepare to take public transit for awhile. (which is to say, this'll be a great couple of years to live in NYC or SFO, where all the cool people take transit.)
