We need to do something about crazy drivers. They are injuring and killing thousands of innocent people each year. Can someone come up with a game plan here; even if it is just to save one innocent life? I want some ideas so that I can initiate this plan somehow through my brother who is in law enforcement.

You CAN call 911 for a reckless driver. Driving recklessly/drunk is an immediate threat to life and property.

Your game plan shoud be to call 911 when you see someone driving dangerously. And be prepared to sign complaints and spend alot of time going to court to testify what you witnessed if you think it's that important. Unless the officer sees the violation happening, they will need someone to sign a complaint in order for them to stop the vehicle.
It is not a bad idea to call 911 when there is an unsafe act being committed. If you knew that some one could get hurt then I say for the safety of the public you have a duty. Just my opinion. Good luck and thanks for helping to keep my streets safe.

Not everyone that zig-zags in and out of traffic is an unsafe driver. A person that goes 5mph below flow of traffic is an unsafe driver. A person that drives in the fast lane and says "go around if you want to go faster" is an unsafe driver. Just because a person drives fast and make abrupt moves does not mean he/she is unsafe. I drive that way and have not killed one person much less been in accident. I vacationed in Mexico a few years back. For the way I drive, their driving scared me. However, I noticed one thing. I did not see cars full of dents and pieces falling off. The reason, everyone was driving the same way. Everyone knew what to expect.

If I saw someone driving like that but they were inaccurate and sloppy about where they were putting the car then I would take the number plate and inform the police later (when could use my phone) in case they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
I have seen lots of people drive accurately and aggressively fast and usually in the direction of the local hospital (perhaps with an injured person or a 'birthing' mother in the back).
If you take some time to think then there is usually a reason for their actions.
However if it is a couple of 'cheeser-racers' in modded chav cars then by all means report them to the police.
It's a judgment call.

If I really think they're hazardous, i.e. reckless, then yes. If I think they're drunk or drugged, then hell yes.

Here is a hypothetical scenario:Invest cation of auto that...?
Some meathead is driving way too fast, and is cutting in and out of traffic. He tries to cut in front of you, but instead sends his car slamming into yours. Your car crashes into a guardrail, and he speeds off, leaving you with a totaled car and a broken leg.
Same situation, only this time you're one of the witnesses of the above incident. You have to stop and wait for the cops to arrive so you can relay to them what you saw. You now must call your supervisor to let him know that you will be late for work.

actually the better idea would be to call the local police rather than 911. save 911 for a real emergency like if the driver hit another car and it sent it skidding off and people might be hurt.. otherwise call the police directly and then their dispatch can move the closest cars to the situation.More Questions & Answers ...
