You know we do, received e-mail from my city cheif of police and yes they say seat belts are a great idea,to have on school buses, unforunatley the police enforce the law they don't write it, he suggest that I get in touch with Senators, Representatives, Legislators, one legislator has tried since 1998 to get a bill passed to get seat belts on school buses. Looks like I'll be contacting the big guys, children are our future, lets give them the best chance they deserve. School buses, in my area, are out of date scrape metal junk, if we can't put belts on buses, we should be able to buy new buses, with seatbelts. Everyone should have the chance to buckle up, I have to, the law in my state says, click it or ticket.

school buses should ditch those bench seats that hold 2 and put in more conformed seats that hold 2, and add seat belts and high backs on them so no neck damage as well.

I think it's assinine to let motorcyclists ride around without helmets, but we have to use seatbelts. Personally, I wish more of these idiots WOULDN'T use seat belts so they can rub themselves out before they hit me someday. But as you most likely know, the seatbelt law is another money racket to bring in revenue for the city.

School buses are big enough to withstand most collisions, I don't really see the need for seatbelts.

Yes, I agree completely. I could never understand why it is against the law to travel with an unrestrained child in your car, but it is OK for the nation/state/county/city to put a lot of children in a vehicle that has very few safety features - let alone no air bags and no restraints what-so-ever.
