When driving a car; besides coming to 'complete stop' what other kinds of 'stop' are there?

I'm sure it's got little to do with earthing the car - my working partner gets about 10,000v each time each time he tries to get in OR out of the car whilst I get nothing at all. I literally have to hold his hand or touch his arm whilst he gets in or out so that he then gets earthed through me, but I still feel nothing ! ! !

I received a citation for a parking violation in a state and city I have never been, nor my car. What can I do?

You can discharge any built up static by touching a piece of metal as you enter and exit the vehicle, thus, taking care of it when you are expecting it. (side of car)
You can add a drop down ground strap. I haven't seen these in a long time, but it is essentially a belt or webbing bolted to the frame that is allowed to drag the ground.

What is the best way to rid yourself of road rage?

The statics's actually in the person, not the car, so those rubber strips are useless (except psychologically). Like already said, hang on to a metal part of the door before & while putting foot on the ground, then the charge dissipates through the car body & doesn't try to weld your fingers to the door!
Nylon knickers can exacerbate this!

Static is caused by the driver rubbing against the seat and not being able to discharge themselves until they get out.If your friend has trouble get them to change the clothing they wear or try doing something to the seat.I suffer sometimes when i wear trainers. Those static strips do nothing as it is not the cat that needs earthing.

If i put a seat and seat belts in the bed of my truck is it legal?

More often than not it's the clothing the person wears. Those strips are a complete waste of time. Before putting a foot on the ground after opening the door, let the electricty dissipate by holding the door for a few moments. Alternatively, once the door is open, get out without touching the car and do a couple of circuits of the car park. Very good for your health, too! Then, go back and close the door.
