Uh, no. The last thing I want is to be strapped to the bike if it goes down and is sliding on its side across the pavement. I'd much rather be thrown clear and trust in my helmet and protective gear (and be able to get up and walk away, as I have in the past) than be attached to the bike.

I was in a wreck a couple years ago where I was thrown clear into the air and landed hitting the opposite curb headfirst. After seeing double for just a few seconds, I walked away from that one. I still have that busted helmet at home as a souvenir.
