What's the point of car commercials showing people what a professional driver can do on a closed course?

Question:
How does that prove anything about how well a regular person would be able to handle it?

Answers:

Say I'm traveling at the speed of light, and I turn my headlights on would they even work?

It doesn't but what it does do is create a want for something bigger, better and faster. Make people believe they are capable of doing the same things and they'll buy your product. All it ends up doing is putting more money in their pockets. Ultimately putting all drivers in risk of being in a serious accident when someone gets behind the wheel and tries the same stunt or other quick manoeuvre when it isn't safe or the road conditions are poor.

Can you occupy a camper trailer while towing it? If not, do any states allow it?

i know its so stupid right? they also says dont try this in real life.

Who had the right of way at 4 way stop?

haha.. yeah really

Why do certain motorists drive around after dark without headlights ?

It looks REAL good, and shows you what the car is capable of, if you have tons of training, and if you always drive on rain-slicked roads! :-P

Driving with gas cap off dangerous?

Hey DL
they're simply appealing to that latent urge in almost every person (guys mostly) that wants to take a $40,000 dollar vehicle out and SCREAM DOWN THE ROAD LIKE THERE WAS NO TOMORROW !!

Should the driving age be lowered?

They are very good at market research and have found this to be the case--- so, they are simply giving the public what they want !!

Yo mama's...Bus Yo Mama is like a bus, she's big she doesn't smell very good and it's only a dollar to ride.

Cars are sold to generate taxes and major profits for a few. After the car is sold, it is a tax cash cow, Drivers License, Plate Tags, Registration, Sales tax, Luxury tax, Gas tax, Labor tax, Import tax and so on. If the commercial people can get you to buy a new car they have served the interests of the government. They do not advise that you go fast in a car, but will sell a car that does 0-60 in 4.6 seconds, with a top end at 160mph. Show me one road where it is even legal to drive 100mph. If you do,it isn't in the US and there is only one that I have been on in Europe. That was 20 years ago.
Save gas, save the world, not gonna happen, so drive on.

What is the meaning of the spraypainted USA seen at roadside construction sites...when roadwork is being done?

commercials focus on the ability of the car n not of the driver.such ads just demonstrate what the car is capable of.

What steps should I take, at the scene, if I'm in a car accident?

I know those crack me up. I especially like the new ones with cars that fly or drive on buildings. "I like to live on the EdgJA!" (Read the fine print... yes, this is a fantasy, cars can't actually drive on buildings.) GEEZ! You're lawyers actually told you to put that disclaimer on there? Amazing.
