Can u have a hand gun in ur car but its 3 steps wit out a concealed weapon license?

if i was going to gun range and had the gun in the car but forgot about it and the cops ask if u had any weapons and u said no, but he finds it, could u go to jail!

First, why would you forget you have a gun in the car if you're going to the range? Isn't that the whole point of the trip? Second, he won't find it unless you have it in plain sight, or you give consent or probable cause to search. Generally cased & unloaded in the trunk is fine, with your ammo in a separate container (preferably in a different area of the car).

Son, you could go to jail for a lo-ooo-ong time! But there're ways to get around the usual prohibitions: carry the weapon in a locked case, unloaded, and with ammunition in an entirely different location within the vehicle. Even better - carry the locked, unloaded weapon disassembled.
