As for the fatalities, if the pedestrians don't pay more attention to where and when they take the step off the curb, then unfortunately, a lot of them get killed. If the people would just start reading the street signs and cross ONLY at marked crosswalks and not try to run across in the middle of the block, then there might just be a few less fatalities.

If you see someone who is driving who just came out of a bar, they should be reported to the police and arrested. Any thing good to get him or them off the road fast.
