Should the fines be higher?

Question:
I'm a trucker driver and one thing I've noticed is that some people tend to drive like idiots whenever they're around a large truck. I've seen people do stupid things like purposely get in the way when a truck is trying to change lanes to cutting off a truck just so they can make a turn. You have to ask yourself is it really worth it by putting your life at risk like this. My question for you is since this could potentially cause a much larger accident then if they had only done this in front of another car, should the fines be larger when they do it around an 18 wheeler? B tw, the bulk of the offenders I've seen so far are either young men or people on cell phones.

None smoker?

Dam right - they should have huge fines and they should also start taking licences off of them. If more of these idiots had their licences removed the road would be a safer place.

Why don't most people use their turn signals when driving?

On another note you guys are great - i have just started having to drive two hours up the road to get to work and it is always a lorry driver that will let you out or flash you back over when you change lanes they also have the common curtisy to thank you when you let them out - very few car drivers do these days. Thank you.

Another driving question...?

Yes it does seem that way. But i have also noticed that truckers have a tendancy to think they own the road...like..if i turn my turn signal on to change lanes, you better look out because i am bigger than you. Not all, but some.

Why do people insist on speeding on the freeway?

Some people don't have any common sense. 100,000lb loaded 18 wheeler running into a 3000lb car. That's when the roofline of the car and the asphalt are one.

I was in a small accident today, is I'm at fault?

Odd one really, penalties in monetary terms vary state to state, country to country.

Why do the buttons on my steering wheel have brail on them?

Where a demerit points system is in use, in addition to a fine for an offence, whatever exactly that offence for the action might be, you will gain the required demerit points.

Isn't it odd that check cashing businesses have a sign on their doors 'no cash o premises?

While driving 18 wheeler is definitely no match to driving a reagular car, I don't think fines should be higher in this case. Causing an accident or near miss is always causing an accident or near miss, no matter what vehicles are involved.

When should I use Cruise control?

If the thought of losing his life doesn't prevent a person from driving recklessly, I can't see why the possibility of a higher fine should deter him.

Car owners in the USA, have you ever considered driving on the left?

yes they should but at the same time there are some truckers out there who pull stupid maneuvers like that too ya know.. some drive 80 or 90 in 75 zones. pass smaller cars and even follow too closely to other trucks or cars because they're going fasther than the speed limit like the vehicle in front is doing. recently i was going the limit of 45 on level flat road and a truck behind me was right on my ***.. so.. not my fault that i'm following the road signs and driving responsibly.
