I'm sure many car drivers in the UK think the speed limit on 2 lane trunk roads is 50 mph when it's 60mph.

Question:
Many drivers just don't drive to suit the prevailing conditions. On many trunk roads in dry.clear, sunny conditions, in moderate traffic some folk dawdle along 35-40 mph in 60 mph zone. Why?They seem to not care abouy the hold ups and frustration they cause. In the Advanced drivers test you lose marks for 'failing to make appropriate safe progress'.

no what i think is even more annoying is when said driver does 40mph in a 60 limit but then continues doin 40mph in a 30 limit...i just imagine they are thinking 40 is my speed no matter what the road limit......or when your going from single lane to dual back to single and everyone stays in the single lane formation so that traffic backs up all the way , then they toot and try and block you when you go in the outer lane of the dual carriage...there i had my rant!

Read yer U.K highway code. On Dual Carriageways the speed limit is 70 mph same as on a motorway. On a single carriageway like a country lane the speed limit is 60 mph if its signed as national speed limit. Remember its a LIMIT not a Target. Drive Safe
